What we offer

Young people will be supported to attend school and take part in lots of fun activities. All staff will be enthusiastic and motivated to ensure that all young people have choice and opportunities to learn and develop to their full potential.

We offer a 1:1 service as a minimum with staff who have been carefully selected in a robust interview process. Staff are well trained and have or are willing to be working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. All staff will also have an up-to-date enhanced DBS check. Everyone will be trained in positive behaviour support. A wide range of other training will be included in a comprehensive induction package.

The home is registered and regulated by Ofsted to ensure we have everything in place to offer an outstanding home for young people.

Children will attend a range of local schools and continue to do so whilst living at My House. The home will work closely with schools, through its key worker system and attendance at the respective education and social care reviews.

My House will work with schools towards the same aims and objectives and we will co-operate with schools to agree a consistent education plan.

The team who work at My House are not trained medical staff, however they will support young people to access local medical support as and when required within the local community.

Young people who live at My House will register with a local GP practice and a dental surgery close by to the home unless otherwise agreed.

Some parents and family members, if able to do so, may want to support their son or daughter to appointments. My House staff will arrange this prior to any appointments being made.

All young people living at My House Calow will have a Health Care Plan which is reviewed by their allocated looked after nurse. The management and team will ensure that all health appointments are attended. Any additional or specialised support (i.e. therapeutic) will be accessed when required to meet the needs of each individual young person.

All necessary appointments will be arranged with My House staff, who will provide any additional support as and when required.

We will encourage all young people to take regular exercise and eat a well balanced healthy diet .

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact one of the team and we will assist to the best of our ability.
